Welcome to Nourished Roots Nutrition!
We’re so glad you’re here! Seeking out this work can take a lot of guts and you are on your way! But what if this isn’t your first attempt to feel better, or maybe even your tenth? What’s been holding you back?
Maybe you’ve tried recovery on your own or in treatment settings, but there’s still something missing…
You may be hoping for a clear, linear, step-by-step path to feeling better and while I completely understand that desire, sadly I have to tell you that it won’t work that way.
What we can do is work together to create your individualized roadmap to recovery; we can navigate the twists and turns and bumps in the road as a team. The most successful tool in our arsenal is the ability to challenge clients to think outside the box, to explore beyond the beaten path and creatively build your toolbox together.
Let’s develop the recovery roadmap together.
-
Authenticity
We believe that finding yourself is an essential part of recovery - no one can make your major life decisions better than you. When you’re able to tap into your inner wisdom, the loud eating disorder voice begins to sound less like a drill sergeant and more like a whisper.
-
Body Liberation
All bodies, regardless of size, color, physical capability, gender, or health status, deserve respect and freedom from judgement. This movement, created primarily by fat, black, queer women, has allowed us to fight against body oppression and harm. Choosing body liberation means choosing freedom for all bodies. It allows us to look beyond food and self image, and cultivate expansiveness in our lives.
-
Respect & Autonomy
We make a point to not tell people what to do - this tends to irritate the heck out of our clients, but it also helps them practice flexibility and encourages self-empowerment to navigate their recovery path. Our goal is to make ourselves obsolete, and allowing clients to build their voice and strengthen their autonomy is key in this.
